Today dawned cool and foggy after the big thunderstorm last night.Welcomed by the locals I imagine as it is very dry and hosts look thirsty in the park.
We decided no more climbing mountains, certainly not in the rain but maybe a chair lift ride to the too of one and a walkabout at the top but too foggy to see anything so we took a local ramble through the park and down the road through some of the small villages along the river. We walked along the other side on our way into town yesterday so it was a different perspective.
We came across these garden sculptures along the way so they are featured in my photos today.
The summer is over and they are past their best but still catch the eye.
We walked back along the river to the chairlift to buy a bag I had seen the previous day.Buggar!she was not open.I should learn not to wait as the opportunity is lost when travelling.
Brad bought some cultural sheep cheese from a young Polish man who was fascinated that we came from NZ so lots of hand signals and play acting followed as we shared some stories.
Later we had a coffee at a traditional cafe, real coffee and plum cake for 10 zloty, equal to two pounds.
This is a town for taking the waters and staying in spa hotels so tourists are older and we'll heeled generally.
Now we are packed and ready to leave Szczawnica for Krachow.
Our walking tour comes to a close.A fantastic experience.
