It was a nice return visit to London on Thursday. After all the rain in Madrid London was fine and sunny with 25 degrees so it was a treat to land into benign temperatures. My shorts and light top was perfect.
I travelled up as far as Ryehill with Brad and then to Victoria Station, Finsby Park and W7 before clocking in at Lou's place.Very lucky for me she was home as my suitcase lock failed, I was too tired that night to worry too much about it and I thought I could sort it in the morning but the following morning it was not giving up its secret.
My house keys were locked inside so I was a prisoner. No walking the canal or Regents Park as intended but I had a nice day sitting in the sun, reading my book and getting a meal ready for the workers.
When Lou got home she produced a box of tools and found one to prise the shank of the clasp off and I was able to get into my suitcase and retrieve my essentials. What a star she was. I was very relieved to say the least.
We had a lovely evening sitting out on the deck eating our tapas and having a wine with Jonathon and Louise. A magic night with a full moon and barmy temperatures.
On Saturday Lou and I went down to East Hampton where Jonathon works to check out the housing options. Lou sees it as an up and coming area and she could invest in a bigger property with the capital gain she has made from her place here.
We met Jonathan for a coffee and looked around the shops and the market. Checked out the pub and park and bought some shoes so a good morning.
The park had a big celebration underway which was a great community event which had lots of free things to do for families. It all seemed positive. The pub only needed an influx of Lou's friends and the ambience would change!
We had a wander along some of the residential streets which offered solid terrace housing, villa style with lots of trees and an open sunny aspect. No large high rises to shade your back yard so I think it could be a likely place to find a bargain.
Lou went off to meet Donna and go to a music festival at Hyde Park so I sat out in the sun and read for awhile, caught up on my blog and checked out Hampton Court for tomorrow. I also tried for some cheap flights to go and see Justine but nothing on offer. Lou is competing in a ten km run next weekend so I thought I could fly down for the weekend but prices are rather eye watering at late notice.
